Welcome to Parent Brain
Hi, My name is Rob Lambert.
I’m the author of The Employable Parent Brain and creator of the Parent Brain podcast.
I share content designed to help parents remain relevant, employable and effective. The knowledge that I share has been gained from 20+ years of management and hiring experience.
I’m a husband and father to 3 awesome boys. By day I run a management coaching and training company, deliver communication training and do plenty Keynote talks. In my spare time I record the Parent Brain podcast.
Why Parent Brain?
Parent Brain came about one cold winter night when I was browsing a popular parenting forum. I stumbled across a series of career related posts. I was saddened by what I read.
Talented, experienced, dedicated and eager parents who simply could not land jobs, get promoted or find meaningful work.
- “Not enough experience”.
- “Not relevant anymore”.
- “Didn’t even get an interview”.
- “Bodged it in the interview”.
- “Out of date CV”.
And so I figured I could share my own knowledge and experience with other parents.
The Parent Brain model
In a nutshell we’ll focus on the Trinity of Career Development.
We’ll also look at how to be both Effective AND Liked. Some people are neither, some are just on one side – to forward your career you’ll need to be somewhere in the middle – and know when to wander to each side.
We’ll cover a lot about how to behave in the workplace for success, how to organise your work and life, how to build the right habits, how discipline to follow processes that work will separate you from the crowd and how to be more effective at work.
We’ll cover plenty around how to learn and become smarter.
And we’ll also cover lots to do with career development such as how to perform well in an interview and write amazing CVs that work.

You can also subscribe the newsletter – where I’ll let you know every time there is a new post on the site.
Parent Brain Foundation
I believe very strongly that every person (and animal) has the right to the best quality of life they can, even if that life may be short.
That’s why I donate 5% of all revenue from Parent Brain, and my other business Cultivated Management, to charity.
2.5% always goes to Naomi House – a hospice in Winchester for life limited children and their parents.
The other 2.5% goes to a different charity each year.
